Healing Within Your System

Substance use often isn’t isolated. It’s often a signal that something deeper needs attention—trauma, family patterns, unmet needs, relationship struggles, or a system that isn’t working.

At Connect Counseling, we work systemically with substance use and addiction. We believe the opposite of addiction isn’t sobriety—it’s connection. We help you work toward understanding what your use means, what it’s protecting you from, and how to work toward changing the patterns that maintain it. We also work with your family system—because real recovery often happens when relationships and family dynamics shift.

We’re here for those considering or ready for change, or for ongoing support following a detox stay.

How Substance Use Fits in Your System

Substance use often makes sense within a larger system. Individual work can help. But real, lasting change often happens when the system itself shifts.

How We Work

We start with your full picture and assess where you stand in your readiness for change. We work with you to develop both personal goals (managing cravings, processing trauma, building coping skills) and relational goals (how you want to relate to your family, relationships, and community).

If your situation is complex—family involvement, co-occurring mental health issues—we bring our whole team in. If you need a higher level of care, we’ll work with you to understand your options.

Medication and Recovery

We recognize that medication can sometimes play a helpful role in recovery. We’re open to discussing medication options with your primary care physician or psychiatrist when appropriate, and we can coordinate with your medical providers.

Court-Ordered D&A Evaluations

If you’ve been ordered by a court to complete a drug and alcohol evaluation, we can help.
